In these beautifully designed bank offices, a striking 2TEC2 installation takes centre stage. Architect Seyhan Özdemir Sarper of Autoban shares the inspiration behind the design.

What was your inspiration behind this interior design?
“Our idea was to create a work environment that feels refined yet grounded, a place where material softness balances architectural precision.
2TEC2 floors became one of our most important tools: they bring warmth, define zones, and soften the acoustics in a way that supports both comfort and concentration.
We wanted the floor to have its own rhythm, so we explored geometric compositions and tonal variations that subtly guide the user through the space.”
How can a floor add to an overall interior design?
“A floor is never just a surface; it’s the emotional anchor of a space. It sets the atmosphere instantly: whether you want calmness, structure, or softness. Floors define zones without building walls. They guide movement, soften sound, and introduce texture.
Choosing the right flooring is crucial because it influences how people feel and behave in a room. A beautifully designed floor can elevate an entire environment; the wrong one can dilute it. That’s why we pay close attention to geometry, weaving direction, texture, and long-term performance.”
Why did you choose 2TEC2 as flooring?
“2TEC2 offers a very rare combination: the tactility and elegance of a woven flooring with the durability and stability required in large-scale corporate environments.
Their products maintain a clean, contemporary look even under heavy use, and their flexibility in custom cuts, pattern development, and modular compositions allowed us to design a floor that doesn’t just decorate the space, but also structures it.
The acoustic softness, easy maintenance, and long lifespan were essential for headquarters with intense daily activity.”
Did sustainability play a role in your project, and how?
“Definitely. One of the most meaningful forms of sustainability is longevity, choosing rugs that maintain their appearance and performance for many years.
2TEC2’s durability reduces the need for frequent replacement, and its manufacturing approach supports responsible material use. We also prioritised low-emission, easy-maintenance materials that contribute positively to indoor air quality and the building’s long-term environmental footprint.”
What 2TEC2 products did you choose and why?
“We chose three distinct tones — Helios, Stellar and Coffee Bean — in 22 × 66 cm planks, composed in a custom pattern exclusive to this project.
This resulted in a flooring that feels warm, textured, and tailored: especially important in the lounge and meeting areas where a more inviting atmosphere is needed.”
How would you describe 2TEC2 in 3 words?
“Refined, Durable, and Architectural.”
Have you used 2TEC2 before, and will you choose it again in the future?
“We’ve specified 2TEC2 in several projects before, and we even use it in our own studio, so it’s a material we know well and trust.
However, this Akbank project is the first time we’ve actually completed a full installation with them, and the experience has been extremely positive. The quality, precision, and collaborative spirit they brought to the process confirmed why we’ve been recommending them for years.
