Product design
We strive to design products that prioritise renewable and recycled materials, and promote durability and reuse.
Bio-based materials
In 2023, we introduced a bio-based woven top layer in our flooring, containing almost 40% bio-based content. This content comes from sustainable, renewable resources like plant residues and used cooking oils. That way, we minimise our dependence on virgin fossil raw materials, leading to a reduction in CO2 emissions, toxic waste and energy and water consumption during production processes.
This innovative layer, developed in collaboration with our supplier, is certified by TUV OK, ensuring its quality and sustainability.
Recycled content
We integrate high levels of recycled content in our flooring, including an acoustic felt backing made from 70% recycled PET and a recycled glass fibre layer. This reduces waste and contributes to a circular economy by giving new life to materials that would otherwise end up in landfills. Additionally, 2TEC2 flooring itself is 100% recyclable.

Eco-efficient manufacturing
In-house production
By keeping our production entirely in-house, we eliminate transport between facilities and cut down emissions. We do our own yarn extrusion, rewinding, weaving, backing, cutting, assembling, packing and storing.
Local suppliers
We work closely with trusted suppliers located near our production site. This shortens the supply chain, lowers transportation emissions, and supports consistent product quality.
Recycling plant
Thanks to our in-house Plascopet recycling plant, we recycle pre-consumer production waste and prepare for post-consumer recycling.
Green energy
We have 3.154 photovoltaic panels on our buildings and a giant Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to capture and store as much renewable solar energy as possible. Green energy currently makes up a 74% share of all energy demand at our site. As a result, we avoid almost 820 tons of greenhouse gas emissions every year.
We also work with a heat recovery system and a closed water cooling system to reuse energy and water, minimising the consumption of new resources.
Managing our resources
At 2TEC2, we make a thoughtful selection of raw materials. Our dedication is clearly reflected in our use of base materials and additives.
Our suppliers
We source materials from our neighbouring countries, which ensures compliance with strict European regulations. We demand transparency from our suppliers and consciously select products and materials for which life cycle information is available. Additionally, the raw materials we use comply with REACH regulations.
Base materials & additives
Our base materials are selected with care — not just for performance, but also for safety and sustainability. 2TEC2 is completely free of harmful substances like phthalates, PFAS and heavy metals.
Additionally, to promote healthier and more hygienic indoor environments, we incorporate additives that inhibit bacterial and fungal growth.
