We are excited to announce that 2TEC2 has recently achieved not one, but two of the most recognized indoor air quality (IAQ) certifications in the industry: Indoor Air Comfort Gold (IACG) and FloorScore®.
Strict indoor air quality standards
Achieving both IACG and FloorScore® certifications is a significant accomplishment, as they are both based on some of the strictest indoor air quality standards in the world. IACG is based on the European Union’s Indoor Air Quality standard, EN 16516, while FloorScore® is based on the California Section 01350 standard. This means that our products have been independently tested and found to emit very low levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) or other chemicals that can have negative effects on indoor air quality.
FloorScore®
FloorScore® IAQ Certification means that a flooring product is independently certified by SCS Global Services to comply with the volatile organic compound emissions criteria of the California Section 01350 Program.
Indoor Air Comfort “Gold” Certification
IACG is an indoor air quality certification program that is based on the requirements of the European Union’s Indoor Air Quality standard, EN 16516. To achieve this certification, a product must meet certain standards for the level of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted by the raw materials used in the manufacturing of the product.
Best-in-class low emission rates
Higher level “Indoor Air Comfort GOLD – certified product” shows additional compliance of product emissions on top of all legal specifications issued by authorities in the European Union and its Member States. This means that 2TEC2 meets the criteria of many of the voluntary sustainability specifications issued by most relevant ecolabels and similar specifications in the EU and requirements for durable building certifications. Therefore certified products are those with the best-in-class low emission rates, thus highly adequate in terms of indoor air quality.
